Tokon Kai Karate holds club competitions each year, in which all students are welcome to take part. This provides students from all the different club locations, the chance to meet each other in friendly competition, with a goal to become the club champion.
Karate is a challenging and exciting sport and whilst competitions are by no means the only goal of karate, many students enjoy the thrill of competing.
Students are expected to display outstanding sportsmanship and respect for their fellow competitors and judges, in keeping with the etiquette and traditions of karate.
Students will learn that taking part is equally as important as winning. This is what “real” karate is all about.
Competitions will also help increase the sharpness of your karate techniques and will also help increase students self confidence, personal development and attitude.
If you have the skill and determination to become a champion, you will be noticed and guided.
For students who wish to compete at external competitions, we have a squad that compete at regional, national and international competitions.
Incentive schemes are in place to recognise students’ hard work. Annual outstanding and most improved student awards are presented.
A sticker scheme is in place for juniors, to receive bronze, silver and gold endeavour awards. There is also an outstanding student award presented at the end of each term at afterschool clubs.
